What the tour is like
You meet at Rifugio Sapienza and take the Funivia dell’Etna cable car, then a 4x4 shuttle, up to around 2,500m. From there a certified mountain guide leads you on foot toward the summit craters — you can choose the lighter 3,000m route or push on to 3,400m for the full, more demanding experience. The reward is steaming fumaroles, black lava fields and views across to the Sicilian coast.
